A low cost-of-living, variety of arts and cultural attractions, and variety of commerce and industry contribute to making Knoxville an attractive place to live, raise a family, and own a business.

This year, Knoxville was ranked 2nd in Yahoo's "10 Coolest Cities with the Lowest Cost of Living," and it consistently receives national recognition for world-class amenities, like urban outdoors and cycling friendliness.

Those amenities include the Baker Creek Bike Park that serves as an entrance to the 1,000-acre Urban Wilderness, 198 miles of greenways and trails, and 6,418 acres of parks.

The area is also well-known for being the home of the University of Tennessee’s flagship campus, which was ranked 52nd among the nation’s top public schools in 2020 by U.S. News and World Report.
