Proposed Hillside Protection Area on KGIS
MPC staff have added the proposed Hillside and Ridgetop Protection Area to the KGIS interactive mapping website, KnoxNetWhere. This map will enable residents to determine whether all or portions of their property falls within the proposed Hillside Protection Area through searches by address, parcel ID number or owner name.
To access KnoxNetWhere, follow the link from the KGIS website, www.kgis.org. To view the plan, select the “MPC Proposed Hillside Protection Plan” theme from the list of themes in the top, right-hand corner of the webpage. To search for a property via address, select the “Search” link on the top of the site and then click “Search by Address.”
East County Sector Plan
At their April meeting, MPC postponed consideration of the East County Sector Plan update pending clarification of judicial action concerning one parcel. Knox County Commission has proposed a version of the plan that uses the update as adopted by MPC in December 2010 but replaces the future land use plan for the area designated as ECo-7 (the proposed Midway Road business park site) with the land use plan in place as of January 1, 2008.
Census 2010
Information from the 2010 census is now available on the MPC website at www.knoxmpc.org/locldata/2010census.htm. MPC staff have created tables and maps to help understand the census information and provide details relating to housing, redistricting, and race.
