One Year Plan 2008 Update Adopted |
MPC adopted the One Year Plan (OYP) 2008 update for Knoxville at their March meeting. The annual update incorporates changing community goals and any OYP amendments approved during the previous year. It also includes any areas that were annexed by the city and assigns them an appropriate land-use classification. Staff proposed amendments may be added due to new conditions or the changing needs of a community. For 2008, the OYP contained amendments that were a direct result of the approval of the West City Sector Plan and the North City Sector Plan, both of which created new land-use designations. In the East Sector, an MPC sponsored rezoning was approved to establish the R-1EN zoning. Citizen participation is a crucial element in the development of the OYP. In February, staff held four public meetings throughout the city sectors to present the proposed changes and receive public suggestions and comments. Once it was adopted by the City Council in April, the OYP became the legal basis for zoning in Knoxville. |
