Agency Welcomes Administrative Assistant

Dallas DeArmond joined our staff earlier this year as an Administrative Assistant.

In his current role, Dallas assists with the work of the Historic Zoning Commission, Design Review Board, and TPO Technical Committee and Executive Board. He is very interested in local history, and has particularly enjoyed learning the nuances of historic preservation. He credits the community’s passion for historic preservation, design, and other related work as inspiration to learn more.

Prior to this position, he worked for the City of Knoxville Courts where he came to realize how much he liked working in the public sector.

His commitment to it stems from a belief that the community deserves public servants who are dedicated to their work, transparent, and hard working. It is clear from his time with our agency that he embodies those values!

Dallas was born and raised in South Knoxville and is a graduate of South Doyle High School and the University of Tennessee. While at UT, he studied abroad in Pau, France and loved the region so much that he later returned there to teach English. Despite the dreamy European setting, Dallas eventually returned home to Knoxville and notes that no matter where his travels take him, he is always happy to come back to East Tennessee. He appreciates being close to family and the balance of nature and urban amenities that Knoxville has to offer – you are just as likely to find Dallas hiking as you are to stumble across him while checking out an art exhibit or trying a new restaurant.

Dallas has jumped right into our agency’s work and is a natural fit in our office. We’re so grateful to have him and hope you’ll help us give him a warm welcome!
