with the first letter indicating the responsible agency: Traffic count data are included for the years 2004-2007, with some count stations being counted on a rotating basis. The traffic count data are given in the standard "Average Daily Traffic" format, which represents the volume of traffic, in both directions, at a particular location on an average day during that particular year. The average traffic is computed by taking the raw traffic count data that is collected usually over a one to two day period and then adjusting it by factors to account for daily and seasonal variations. More detailed information, including the directional, hourly, and 15-minute summaries of selected counts, is available from the Knoxville Regional Transportation Planning Organization. TPO completed counts of bicyclists and pedestrians at 7 locations in Knoxville and 3 locations in Blount County. These counts are conducted twice a year. Detailed information on each count location is available by request from the TPO. Metropolitan Planning Commission
