Group #2

1) Plan addressed all concerns

2) All interested parties represented

3) Future addressed:

  • Riverfront
  • Integration
  • Good planning was the focus

4) Environmental issues addressed:

  • Caves
  • Ridges
  • Urban

5) Reconfigured Chapman Highway (James White Parkway, too):

  • Safer
  • Friendlier
  • Look (aesthetics, boulevard-ish)
  • Bicycle friendly
  • Limited access points
  • Local roads better connected and railroad underpasses addressed

6) South Knoxville viewed as "The place to be"; South Knoxville businesses and residents happy; Real estate value skyrockets

7) TDOT gives fair prices for property

 

Group #3

  • Outcome is representative of the interests, feeling, needs, concerns of the citizens/businesses of South Knox County/Seymour/South Knoxville
  • When we get it right:
    • We will have brought our community together, not divided it.
    • We will feel the sense of pride expressed within the community.
    • Our community will feel empowered.
    • Our community will be safer (transportation).
    • The natural beauty will be enhanced/preserved.
    • Improved working relationship with larger community.

 

Group #4

  • Satisfied needs of area
  • Plan for making South Knoxville more attractive
  • Plan for better managing of traffic flow to/from downtown
  • Provided a plan to accommodate traffic flow/safety for cars/pedestrians/bikes from Sevier County and South Knoxville
  • Seasonal flow of traffic from I-40 thru South Knoxville was addressed
  • Created a good business plan
