IN 2034, SOUTH KNOX IS: An area of Knoxville which offers a diverse array of local and regional destination attractions (cultural, entertainment & retail activities, beautiful natural parks, well-preserved historic assets and riverfront venues connected by greenways) while maintaining strong neighborhoods and community pride; An area of safe, visually-pleasing thoroughfares, bike facilities and pedestrian-friendly streets in which a variety of transportation modes (automobiles, bikes, mass transit, sidewalks, etc.) are embraced and utilized; An area in which Chapman Highway is the hub of diverse business and community activity; and, James White Parkway (if built) is a major (limited-access)(non-commercial) transportation corridor. |
