Chapman Improvements

(a) Improve access control on Chapman Highway

  • Median
  • Restricted left turn lanes
  • Restricted curb cuts
  • Restricted drive way openings
  • Consistent shoulders
  • Sidewalks
  • On-street bike lanes 

 

(b) Major re-design of Chapman Highway 

  • All the above (a) alternatives to improve access control
  • Increase in the spacing of signalized intersections (eliminate some signals)
  • Frontage roads in designated town center districts with on-street parking
  • Dedicated transit lanes

 

(c) Add an additional travel lane to Chapman Highway

  • Three (3) through lanesaddition of one lane in each direction

 

(d) Improve connections between Chapman and the existing segment of the JWP

  • Interstate type exchange at James White Parkway and Moody
  • Interstate type exchange at Moody and Chapman
  • Conversion of Moody to limited access

 

(e) Improve roads parallel to Chapman Highway (lateral movements)

  • KAT Action Plan improvements (including 15 minute service)
