PROCEDURE FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE MPC CONSENT AGENDAS

All items recommended for approval by consent will be considered at the beginning of each meeting on one consent agenda. The Planning Commission will no longer consider separate consent agendas at the beginning of each major agenda section, such as One Year Plan Amendments, Right-of-Way Closures and Name Changes, Concept Plans, Uses on Review, Rezonings, and the other items that are considered each month. Instead, one master list of the items that are recommended for "approval on consent" will be considered after the review and approval of the monthly list of postponements, tablings and withdrawals.

Citizens with an interest in a particular item on the combined consent agenda will still have the opportunity to request that the item be removed from the consent agenda and considered at its regular place in the appropriate agenda section. The intent of this change is to allow for additional time for consideration of the more controversial items on the MPC agenda and to allow the meetings to be conducted in a more efficient manner. MPC meetings begin at 1:30 p.m., and all applicants and citizens interested in particular items should arrive at that time.

Please call the MPC office, at 215-2500, if there are any questions concerning this procedure.
